Best Roofing began the reroofing process by applying Polystick TU MAX directly onto the townhomes’ plywood roof decking. This high-performance, self-adhered waterproofing underlayment is specifically designed for use in both adhesive foam and mechanically fastened roof tile systems, providing superior protection against moisture intrusion.

Engineered with ADESO® dual-compound self-adhered technology, Polystick TU MAX features an advanced polymer-modified bitumen upper layer, delivering enhanced durability and weather resistance. On the underside, a proprietary self-adhesive elastomeric Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) compound ensures a secure bond to the substrate, creating a seamless and reliable waterproof barrier. The self-adhered underlayment also includes a split-release film, which safeguards the adhesive layer prior to installation and allows for effortless application, ensuring efficiency and precision throughout the roofing process.

With limited space available for parking or staging materials at the project site, logistics posed a significant challenge. However, the use of Polystick TU MAX enabled the Best Roofing team to efficiently dry-in large sections of the roof for extended periods. This strategic approach provided crucial flexibility, ensuring the site was adequately prepared for the timely delivery and loading of roof tiles without compromising the workflow or project timeline.

Polystick TU MAX

Polystick TU MAX is a high-performance, self-adhered waterproofing underlayment engineered for use with adhesive foam or mechanically fastened roof tile applications. Built with advanced ADESO® dual-compound self-adhered technology, it combines a durable polymer-modified bitumen upper layer with a proprietary elastomeric Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) self-adhesive compound on the bottom. A split-release film protects the adhesive layer, ensuring smooth and efficient application.

Designed for durability and performance, Polystick TU MAX features a tough polyester-reinforced surface fabric that enhances skid resistance while providing exceptional adhesion for foam-set tile installations. The aggressive self-adhesive bottom layer, combined with the superior bond of foam to the top surface, delivers excellent wind uplift resistance and a watertight seal against wind-driven rain. In mechanically fastened systems, the asphaltic compound ensures tight sealability around nails, further reinforcing weather protection. Its heat-resistant formulation makes it ideal for high-temperature environments beneath tile and other roofing materials.

Polystick TU MAX is also designed for easy handling and installation. Its flexible membrane lays flat effortlessly, accelerating the installation process. Additionally, the patented SEALLap® factory-applied adhesive treatment at the membrane overlap creates a fast, reliable watertight bond.
