Meet Kool Roof Solutions — Polyglass’ line of white membranes and elastomeric coatings designed to reflect the sun’s rays and keep interior building temperatures comfortable — adding up to significant long-term savings on energy bills.

Specially formulated in our laboratories using state-of-the-art technologies, we designed our line of white Kool Roof Solutions products to comply with cool roof requirements stipulated by Title 24, Part 6, of the 2016 California Building Energy Efficiency Standards. This gives building owners long-term protection from the elements and reduces UV deterioration, significantly extending the lifespan of a roof.

Highly Reflective White Polyfresko Membranes

Kool Roof Solutions include highly reflective white Polyfresko modified bitumen membranes equipped with our patented CURE Technology.

The innovative thin-film technology of Polyfresko membranes provides enhanced performance benefits, including UV stabilization, granule adhesion, high reflectivity, scuff resistance, and stain resistance — all of which make roof systems particularly robust and durable for many years to come.

White Elastomeric Coatings

Polyglass’ PG and PolyBrite white elastomeric roof coating products provide industry-leading reflectivity and UV protection, helping to keep building temperatures cool. These coatings are some of the best roof solutions, utilizing an eco-friendly formulation to keep out moisture and increase the lifespan of a roof.

What are cool roofs?

Cool roofs are designed to reflect the sun’s rays and absorb less heat than typical roofs. Installing a cool roof helps make a building more energy-efficient by reducing the amount of heat that penetrates the building.

Polyglass’ line of Kool Roof modified bitumen membranes utilize innovative roof solutions and construction materials such as CURE Technology to provide exceptional energy efficiency.

What is Solar Reflective Index (SRI)?

Solar Reflective Index is a method of determining the level of solar rays that a roof can reflect. A high SRI indicates a more energy-efficient roof that absorbs less heat.

For example, Polyglass’ Polyfresko membranes achieve exceptional SRI scores, with the Polyfresko G SA Cap Sheet achieving a score of 96 upon initial installation and an SRI of 83 after three years of weathering.

All roofing products that meet SRI requirements (as laid out in the California Building Energy Efficiency Standards, Title 24, Part 6), have also had their radiative properties rated and labeled by the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC).
